Whilst passing through Sydney on numerous occasions recently, John has stopped in to work with NRL club the Penrith Panthers.
“When I have the opportunity to work with professional sporting teams like the Penrith Panthers I speak to them about pulling together as a team” John said. “Having the confidence and trust not only in yourselves but also your team mates, what the jersey means to not only themselves but the wider community.”
John’s message to the team centered around how lucky they are to be doing something they have loved from when they were kids, and now have the opportunity to do it as a profession. John reminded the players that there are so many people who would love to do what they are doing. “You have so many adoring fans that love you and travel, some for hours, just to watch you play” John said.
Panthers Coach, Phil Gould said “I’ve known John 28 years. (He’s a) great man and a true inspiration to all.” As part of his visits, John worked with the main group, as well as the academy players.
